Welcome to our Disciplinary Domain
The Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy at Uppsala University consists of two faculties comprising twelve departments where we educate students and conduct research.
At the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy we educate physicians, nurses, midwives, and pharmacists and other registered professions in the health care and pharmacy sectors. Our students can also obtain academic degrees within medical or pharmaceutical sciences enabling them to pursue a professional career with government authorities or in the medical or pharmaceutical industry. We also conduct basic and applied research in areas of great urgency.
A key factor in the success of the University is our connections to other universities and the wider community. Uppsala University has close and beneficial collaboration with Uppsala University Hospital (Akademiska), research projects and study programmes in collaboration with Swedish higher-education institutions, and research and educational agreements with universities in all parts of the world. We are well prepared and able to recruit the frontline researchers of tomorrow.
