Research fields at CCR Västerås

Research conducted at the Centre for Clinical Research (CCR) in Västerås has a strong clinical focus. Those research projects that are affiliated to the CCR in Västerås should be based on daily work with patients.

Our task is to perform research based on patient perspectives, both clinically and from the viewpoint of public health. Therefore, our research involves several seemingly disparate fields.
The research conducted at the CCR covers areas from psychiatric conditions and cancer to cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal disorders and health care organizations etc. We study the risk and protective factors of different medical conditions. We also study the long-term and short-term effects that different treatment options may have on patients.
We have various research projects ranging from the care of the youngest individuals, the premature, to studies involving the question why we eventually die. Please see the list below showing our different fields of research.
In addition, at the CCR in Västerås we conduct so-called doctoral education, i.e. our researchers supervise a large number of doctoral students who write their theses at the CCR in Västerås, while being registrered at various universities in Sweden.
