The Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology at Uppsala University (http://www.igp.uu.se) has a broad research profile with several strong research groups focused on Genomics, Cancer and Molecular Diagnostics. Research is presently conducted in the following areas: Medical and Clinical Genetics, Immunology, Pathology, Tumor Biology and Vascular Biology. Parts of the organization are also integrated with the departments for Clinical Genetics, Immunology and Pathology-Cythology at Akademiska sjukhuset, Uppsala. The department provides a well-developed infrastructure for advanced molecular sciences, including access to front-line technology as well as core facilities for cell analyses, DNA sequencing and genotyping. The Department has a yearly turnover of around 340 million SEK with a staff of around 340 people, 120 of which are PhD-students.
Independently designing, performing and analyzing experiments in the area of analysis of cellular and animal models and where the function of phosphatases (Paladin) or receptor tyrosin kinases (PDGF) are evaluated and reporting data and results to PIs. Presenting at lab meetings and international Conferences. Interacting with members of the vascular biology research division at IGP.
PhD in biomedicine. Several years of experience from work with angiogenesis receptor tyrosin kinase growth signaling using both cellular and animal experimentation. Multiple years of experience using advanced imaging (confocal microscopy and live imaging).
Experience from mouse tumor models.
Experience from signaling studies involving phosphatases.
