We are searching for a highly motivated individual with a great interest in coordinating and developing work at the Uppsala Antibiotic Center (UAC) at Uppsala University.
UAC is financed by Uppsala University with 40 million SEK over 4 years. Prof. Dan Andersson is the director and together with three project leaders they lead the work at UAC. UAC was started in 2017 with the recruitment of 14 PhD students that will be part of a cross-disciplinary research school. Three associate lecturers will also be recruited, one per disciplinary area. In addition to the research environment created by the PhD students, their supervisors and the research school, UAC will also arrange workshops, seminars and collaboration platforms to build a successful cross-disciplinary environment and strengthen education in this area at Uppsala University.
Responsibilities: We are searching for a project administrator/coordinator that will participate in developing the activities of the center. Responsibilities include coordinating daily work, support PhD students and researchers associated with the center and handle some budgetary issues. An important duty involves communication within UAC, between UAC and the University and external communication via our home page and social media. Furthermore, the work involves planning, administration and participation in courses, seminars and symposia, general UAC administration coordination of applications and some teaching. Depending on the development of UAC other responsibilities might be added.
Qualifications: We are searching for a person with a Masters or PhD in medicine, biomedicine, microbiology or other relevant subjects. You should have documented experience of administrative work, good organizational and computer skills, structured work habits and an interest in continuously developing your own work. Very good knowledge of English is needed and good knowledge of Swedish is a merit. Previous organization of seminars and conferences is a merit.
We want you to have a central role at UAC and an interest and skills in communicating and interacting with different people is important. Thus, to be successful in this position you must be able to take initiatives, independent and complete your tasks. We want you to create networks and give presentations with UAC relevance. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the position, where skills in communication, collaboration, ability to work independently and problem solving are important.
